My Branch Basics Review {why you need to ditch the toxins}!

This is my 100% honest Branch Basics Review. I cover why I switched to their products, what I like, and what I don’t!

What is Branch Basics

So if you’re here you’ve likely heard a little about Branch Basics but maybe aren’t sure if it is worth all the hype or maybe you aren’t even sure what it even is.

To start off let’s just backtrack a bit to what they even are? To answer, Branch Basics is a female founded company that sells nontoxic cleaning products. This includes laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, bathroom cleaner, etc.

Three inspiring women founded the company: Marilee, Allison, and Kelly and you can real all about their AMAZING journeys here. Their stories are each unique in their own way, and 2 of them suffered from chronic illnesses. What their journeys all led them to was the power of clean eating and a clean living environment that removed toxic ingredients in their space. Their health transformed as they implemented a holistic approach into their lifestyles. They ultimately joined forces to share their learning and help others discover the transformative benefits of tossing the toxins and living a healthier, nontoxic lifestyle.

Why I switched to Branch Basics

After suffering from eczema for over the past couple of years, I have been making significant lifestyle changes to not only detox the internal but detox my space around me as well. I decided to make the switch to Branch Basics after learning about the insanely toxic ingredients in your typical household cleaning products. What is even crazier is that for years I never even stopped to question these toxic ingredients!

One of the most eye opening websites you can visit is the Environmental Working Group (EWG) product guide. They assign a score for almost any product you can think of ranging from EWG Verified to grade F.

The grades are assigned based on the following concerns: asthma/respiratory, skin allergies & irritation, developmental & reproductive toxicity, cancer, and environment impact.

One of the products I was using consistently before transitioning to Branch Basics was the Tide Laundry Pods. Even worse is that the pods are F GRADE on the website! These chemicals were seeping into my clothes on the reg and sitting against my skin 24/7. I can’t believe looking back how many toxins I was exposing my skin to just from my clothing!

Now contrast their scores to Branch Basics who’s Oxygen Boost is EWG verified and the concentrate is GRADED B. This was incredibly eye opening for me. I realized just how harmful these products really were for me that I was using on a daily basis.

Here are some additional wins that are guaranteed when purchasing Branch Basics:

Premium Starter Kit

This kit is what I started with and 10/10 would recommend starting with for first timers when transitioning to Branch Basics. This kit comes with 1 concentrate bottle and 1 container full of the Oxygen Boost. There are also 5 empty bottles to fill for: hand soap, laundry detergent, bathroom cleaner, all purpose cleaner, and streak free glass cleaner. Each empty bottle has very specific instructions on how to create the right level of product using water and the concentrate.

*I chose this kit because I wanted the oxygen boost for that extra squeaky clean when doing laundry.

Basic Starter Kit

Branch Basics Basic Starter Kit

This kit is identical to the premium starter kit minus the Oxygen boost. This is still a great bang for your buck and has all of the cleaning bottles you need + concentrate.

Laundry Kit

Branch Basics Laundry Kit

This kit is perfect if you solely want to use Branch Basics for washing your clothes. This comes with the concentrate, laundry detergent bottle, and oxygen boost. I throw a scoop of the oxygen boost into every load right into the washing machine! One concentrate bottle will get last up to 192 loads of laundry. This nets to roughly 3 cents per load!

Trial Kit

Trial Kit – You get concentrate to test out one bottle of the All Purpose Cleaner

An incredibly affordable option (just $5)! if you are on the fence about switching to Branch Basics and want to try out the products first. This trial kit will get you one spray bottle of the all purpose cleaner. This bottle is one of my most frequently used for cleaning produce, washing dishes, and fighting stains.

Refills

Once you buy your first kit, you will have the unique bottles forever and only need to restock your concentrate and oxygen boost! I love the simplicity of these products and how all purpose the concentrate is for tackling different needs. The concentrate refill costs $49 and they oxygen boost refill costs $10.

How to Use Branch Basics

Once you decide which kit to order, the usage is fairly simple and straightforward. Each bottle will tell you the EXACT directions for how much concentrate and water to fill for the perfect cleaning combination. You use solely the concentrate for mixing the bottles and the oxygen boost is just for laundry.

Laundry: I use one capful of the laundry detergent and 1 scoop of the oxygen boost each load. The laundry detergent goes where your detergent would normally go and I throw the boost scoop right into the machine with the clothes.

Produce: I spray the All Purpose cleaner on all of my produce to clean it which took some getting used to in the beginning. But guess what, this spray is non toxic so spray away!

Dishes: I also use the All Purpose spray to clean dishes with a sponge with warm water!

Mirrors/Glass: I use the Glass spray with a rag to clean and works like a charm!

There is also an extensive user guide here on how to clean any household item you can think of with incredibly thorough instructions! Honestly, reading through these made me realize that there are still tons of ways I can maximize my cleaners that I hadn’t even thought of before!

Branch Basics Review – Final Thoughts

My final thoughts in this Branch Basics Review would be that I overall have been very impressed with these products and have so much peace at mind knowing that I’m eliminating harmful toxins in my apartment and especially on my clothes!

My only ‘dislike’ would be that I don’t know if it is necessary to have so many different types of cleaners as they are all using the same concentrate but at the end of the day it still is helpful to know which one to use for which cleaning purpose you are looking for.

All in all I know that I will definitely continue to use Branch Basics in my life. Let me know in the comments if you enjoyed my Branch Basics Review and decide to switch over to the #nontoxic life!
