This Girls Weekend in Napa Valley recap includes an itinerary at a glance plus a detailed day by day recap, along with additional recommendations of where to eat, drink, stay, for a perfect 3 day girls weekend away!

To celebrate my 30th birthday, we had the most incredible sisters + mom girls weekend away in the stunning Napa Valley. This was my first time visiting, and my oldest sister Emily has been a few times. She planned almost the entire weekend for us which was the most amazing birthday treat! As I am often the planner in the group (can refer to many of my other travel posts) this was the best feeling knowing the weekend planning was in AMAZING hands. Emily crushed it, and sharing a day by day recap of everything we did to help you plan the most incredible girls weekend in Napa Valley!

Girls Weekend in Napa Itinerary at a Glance

Note the below was our pre trip itinerary which we did make a few tweaks along the way! We ended up not going to Gott’s Roadside as the line was INSANE, and we opted for dinner at the hotel Saturday night instead of Goose & Gander (did different night instead)/Charlies! We also opted to play pickle ball instead of a hike and lay by the pool instead of shop.

Where to Stay in Napa Valley:

I cannot rave enough about the Solage, Auberts Resorts Collection in Calistoga, CA. We stayed for 3 nights and had the most perfect stay. This was easily one of the best hotels I have EVER stayed at. EVERY detail was seriously exceptional. Recapping all of the incredible details as follows:

  • Daily activity menu (from pilates to pickle ball to aqua aerobics)
  • Daily create your own bouquet for your room cart
  • Gorgeous amenities: pool, gym, pickle ball courts, geothermal spa
  • Incredible maid service (they literally organized all of our belongings)

Our stay also included the following complimentary items:

  • Wine upon arrival
  • Bikes with baskets
  • Tea & lemonade
  • Wine tasting at Fantesca
  • Rental of hotel car
  • Pickleball equipment + court

Our room was spacious with a cute back patio space as well to hang out on. I made sure to pack my beats pill speaker so we could play music while getting ready.

How to Get to Napa Valley

The easiest way to get to Napa is by flying into the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and then getting a rental car. I cannot recommend enough booking a Sixt rental car. When we walked to the rental car area, we were in SHOCK at the insane lines for cars from most companies. However, we booked with Sixt and got the car in minutes. It was slightly pricier than other options but worth every single penny to not wait in I kid you not 1-2 hour lines minimum. You can book a rental car through rentalcars.com here and filter for Sixt supplier.

What to Pack for Napa Valley

Rounding up some of my favorite finds below for Napa packing inspo (click images for links) ❤️. My packing list included a few sundresses, swimsuits, a cover-up, sandals, workout sets, sneakers, sunglasses, and a summer book (checkout my latest reads here for inspo). I regretted not packing a jacket or shawl for nighttime, as it definitely gets much chillier once the sun drops!

Girls Weekend in Napa Valley: Detailed Itinerary

Going into a more detailed girls weekend in Napa Valley day by day itinerary below. I can’t recommend everything we did enough. Feel free to take these at your own pace, but adding time stamps for reference of when we did each activity!

Day 1 (Saturday)

Arrivals in SFO. We all came from different airports (DFW, PHX, JFK) but all landed around 10am. Plan accordingly as it takes a while to get off the plane, bags, train to rental car, and get set up with your car. Hit the road towards the Solage hotel which is about a 2 hour drive.

Picobar

1:30-2:30PM: We decided to head straight to the hotel for lunch at their restaurant Picobar. We drove by Gott’s Roadside which was in the original plan, but the line was insane so we pivoted. Picobar hit the spot and would definitely recommend trying during your girls weekend in Napa!

Larkmead Vineyards

3-5PM: Head to Larkmead for your first wine tasting of the weekend! Established in 1895 with the most gorgeous property. Plus we loved their continued efforts to convert to organic and sustainable farming (which many of the mainstream large wine corporations are sadly steering away from). You can book a private tasting here. Fees range from $90-$150 per guest.

Wearing this pink maxi dress, sandals from Italy, and Polene bag.

Solbar

6:30-8:30PM: We originally had a reservation at Charlie’s for dinner (have heard great things) but decided to instead just eat dinner at the Solbar restaurant at the hotel. Solbar is an American-style restaurant on the Michelin Guide, and did not disappoint! The atmosphere was great on the patio, and the bread rolls with truffle butter were to die for.

However, the oysters were OK and would recommend skipping and the black cod was amazing! I also want to try the caviar chips & dip if we were to return.

Spa Solage

8:45-10PM: We put on our suits and hotel robes (seriously the coziest robe I’ve ever put on my body) and walked over to the Spa Solage. They were offering a special that night where they opened up the spa for guests and offered the Solage Signature Mudslide treatment to guests for only $50 (typically $250-$300).

We had a BLAST doing the mud treatment and was worth every penny! There are a few essential oil options you can choose from to mix into their exclusive mineral-enriched mud including stress relief, revitalization, mood enhancer, or muscle soother. Once mixed, they send you into a warm sitting area to apply the mixture all over your body. We were cracking up at how silly we looked post application, but so much fun doing and feels AMAZING on your body.

After the mudslide treatment, rinse off and enjoy the 5 baths they have to offer. Our favorite was the magnesium bath we soaked in before bed. The staff was so sweet and even served us complimentary champagne in celebration of my birthday. The spa was also such a fun way to also meet other guests at the hotel!

Day 2 (Sunday)

Solbar

9-10AM: Start your morning with breakfast at Solbar. I was beyond impressed with the food, we ate here everyday it was so good! The hotel also included a $45pp breakfast voucher which was automatically applied to the meal. I kid you not, the avocado toast and the chilaquiles were easily some of the best I’ve ever had (and not exaggerating here).

Fantesca Winery

10:30-1:30PM: Drive over to the first wine tasting of the day at Fantesca Winery. This tasting was complimentary through our hotel (normally $200+ pp)! The grounds are gorgeous and we were greeted with the tastiest chips & caviar + champagne. Note we did go longer than normal as we did not have a hard stop, and he didn’t have a tour after ours.

Our tour guide Keith was great and was chatting us up and telling us tons of stories about the estate. We walked down to a gorgeous viewpoint of the vineyards as he told us the history of the place, and then he took us into the cave cellar to see the barrels of wine. Lastly we ended with a very generous tasting with a full sample of all of their top wines.

He also shared that they are working on building a gorgeous, upgraded tasting room which would love to return to see once complete! Especially with the gorgeous Napa views they have to offer.

Emily’s outfit links (on the left): Denim dress, Hermes Scarf (linking similar), hat, jelly shoes. Katya’s outfit links (on right): Black dress, Sunglasses.

What I loved most about Fantesca is their commitment to sustainable and organic farming practices. To this day, they are firmly rooted in preserving biodiversity, ecological balance, natural pest management, and sustainable soil integrity. Would absolutely recommend visiting and purchasing wine afterwards! You cannot find Fantesca wine in a typical store.

Farmstead

1:30-3PM: Drive to Farmstead for lunch. This was our top restaurant off the hotel property. It was such a cute spot with incredible food. We shared a variety of plates for the table, and they were all incredible! You truly cannot go wrong eating here, everything was delicious.

Quintessa Winery

3-5PM: Head to Quintessa for your second wine tasting of the day. This was my favorite tasting as the grounds were just absolutely STUNNING. We took a golf cart to this gorgeous tasting room with an unreal view of the grounds and lake with open windows. Our tour guide was so nice too!

Fleetwood

6:30-9PM: Bike to Fleetwood in Calistoga for some wood fired pizzas! (Note we did take a little catnap at the hotel after the tasting as all the wine knocked us out) 😅.

This was such a cozy spot, and they even had a fire pit in the back patio which is where we ate. We shared a couple of apps for the table and pizzas. I wasn’t a huge fan of the truffle mushroom pizza we ordered, but my sisters loved their BEE STING pie: pepperoni, Italian sausage, mozzarella, hot honey, and basil.

After dinner, we biked back to the hotel and cuddled in bed watching the Olympics before passing out!

Day 3 (Monday)

The last full day for your girls weekend in Napa, which we prioritized a more relaxing pool & spa kind of vibe at the hotel!

Sam’s General Store

9-11AM: Start the morning with a bike ride into town for coffee/matcha and pastries from Sam’s General Store. This was such a cute spot! Would say the ambiance was 10/10 but the food and drink quality was OK not amazing. However, we still had a blast enjoying the gorgeous weather outside with drinks and pastries in hand. 🙂

PS: I’m wearing my favorite Varley, butter leggings, and belt bag.

We headed back to the hotel afterwards, but you can definitely wander around the town as they have a ton of cute shops nearby!

Solage Pickle Ball

12:30-2:30PM: Head to the Solage pickle ball courts for a fun game with the girls! The hotel had all the nicest equipment for us to use at no additional cost. The courts were in perfect shape and we had them all to ourselves!

Pickle ball outfit inspo: white tennis skirt or blue amazon tennis skirt & amazon top I’m loving! (I hadn’t realized we were going to play so didn’t get to pack a cute pickle ball fit for the games)!

Solage Pool

Head to the pool for some R&R with a good cocktail and book (check out my latest summer reads here)! The servers came straight to our chairs to put orders in from the hotel restaurant Picobar. I had the tastiest marg, and my sisters shared a couple of apps.

Had to take a pic of my sis in the most adorable fit: Agua de bendita wrap, black bikini, straw hat.

Spa Solage

2:30-6PM: Walk over to the most incredible experience at Spa Solage with a variety of thermal baths to enjoy including a magnesium tub! They had different recommended circuits you could follow which we did the following: Sauna, Cold Shower, Salt Tub, Steam Room, Cold Plunge, Repeat! The cold plunge was my favorite part, I can’t even begin to describe how incredible you feel afterwards.

You can also book a massage during this time if desired, Emily booked one and said was OK not the best massage she’s ever had. Could definitely vary by masseuse.

We showered afterwards in the Spa bathroom which had the most extensive amenities offered. This worked out great since we had a quick turnaround for dinner, so with 4 girls and one bathroom, it was easier for us to all shower the same time in the spa! They had the plushest robes we put on afterwards to walk back to the room.

Goose & Gander

7-8PM: Drive to Goose & Gander for a pre dinner cocktail. We LOVED this spot and wish we could’ve spent more time here, the interior was so quirky and cozy plus the cocktails were DELISH. They also had a great outdoor patio space.

We headed to the Auberge for dinner, but you could also stay put for dinner here!

Auberge du Soleil

8-11PM: Finish the night with dinner at the Auberge du Soleil. We couldn’t believe how stunning the views were from this spot! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect dinner to celebrate my 30th birthday.

Wearing this pink dress I bought to celebrate my 30th in!

However, to be honest, we again were underwhelmed by the food and definitely felt like you were paying more for the experience and view and less the meal. A few other spots we had debated between were the Charter Oak and a new opening Violetto. If you want a gorgeous view with amazing service, then the Auberge would be a great spot to try!

Day 4 (Sunday)

Check out of the hotel and grab your final meal at the hotel. If time, you could squeeze in a morning workout at the gym or from a class on the schedule! Begin the long drive back to the airport for departures home 🙁 Reminder to always give extra buffer time for traffic, getting lost, and car return drop off!
